A Five Step Internet Marketing Plan

An Internet marketing plan is a useful tool that can jumpstart your business from concept to earnings if done in a carefully, well-structured manner. Promoting the services or products that your business offers can seem like a daunting task, but by following these quick steps you can get your marketing plan off to a great start:

Step 1: Set Goals. Be sure and have both short-term and long-term goals for your business. Take time to decide what measurable goals you have and create a plan of action. Start with the goals that need to be accomplished this week, then a month from now, then six months from now and onward. Make sure all goals are attainable for the best results.
Step 2: Analyze your competition. Decide what your business can offer that other similar companies can’t. Get to know all you can about your competitors, what works for them and how you can do better. Join networks where your competitors hang out keep your ears open to new ideas that you can implement to attain some of their customer base.
Step 3: Implement your official website and put your marketing plan into action. This is where all the previous homework pays off. Consider this the learning phase. Make sure you create a site that conveys professionalism and credibility within your market.
Step 4: Monitor and make changes. Adapt your Internet marketing plan depending on the response you get. If something works well, make note of it and use that method for future campaigns. No sense spinning your wheels on plans that waste your time and money.
Step 5: Measure success/failure. Try to take an objective view of your Internet marketing plan to determine what’s working, and what’s not. When you see a return on your investment, you will know that your marketing plan is successfully doing what its supposed to.
Just like a standard business plan, an Internet marketing plan will help you have real guidelines and goals for where you want your business to go. You will also be able to have a clearer more realistic picture of who you want to target as potential customers. This plan will help keep track of your success as an online business owner and make changes as needed to sustain your business venture.
